Executive Branch

The SGA Executive branch consists of the SGA Executive Cabinet, which is made up of the President, Executive Vice President (EVP), Academic Vice President (AVP), and the Services Vice President (SVP). Assisted by an executive staff, the top four officers are chiefly responsible for representing student interests to external government influences, administering the policies, procedures, and programs of the SGA, soliciting the opinions and concerns of the student body, and serving as liaisons to U of L administration

Vishnu Tirumala

Vishnu Tirumala

President

Vishnu Tirumala is a senior Political Science and Philosophy major from Corbin, KY. He has been involved in Student Government since he was a freshman. At various points he has served as an assistant to the Communications Director, an A&S Senator, Senate Appropriations Chair,  and a member of the Engage Lead Serve Board’s Executive Board. He looks forward to using his prior SGA experience to advocate for students and tackle the pressing issues our University faces.

On behalf of the Student Body, Vishnu serves on the University’s Board of Trustees as well as various University-wide committees. On campus, Vishnu is involved with the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, the Indian Student Association, Student Orientation Staff, and has previously served as a Resident Assistant. He has interned with the World Affairs Council of Kentucky & Southern Indiana, the Kentucky Attorney General’s Consumer Protection division, statewide political campaigns, and the Kentucky State Senate.

Sarah Love is a senior Political Science and Psychology major from Madisonville, Kentucky. She has been involved in SGA throughout her college career, first as a Task Force Freshman to the Services Vice President and now as the Executive Vice President. Outside of work or class, you can probably find her watching The Office, eating Chic-Fil-A, or hanging out in Cherokee Park. She looks forward to a productive and effective year of advocating for all students at UofL.

 

Christopher Bird

Service Vice President

Christopher Bird is a senior from Louisville, Kentucky. He studies civil and environmental engineering at the J.B. Speed School. He is a member of the Brown Fellows Program, class of 2018; the American Society for Civil Engineers; Speed Spectrum; The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity; and Order of Omega Greek leadership honor society. He has served as a Cardinal Ambassador since 2015, guiding prospective students, families, and distinguished guests on campus tours. Chris has worked three diverse engineering co-op positions. He served as an intern at The White House Council on Environmental Quality during the Obama Administration. He observed the implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act, supported agency implementation of the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act, and evaluated current environmental assessments and environmental impact statements. Chris experienced building construction management for private and government clients working for The Walsh Group in Washington, DC. Most recently he served as a civil engineering intern for WSP USA, an international transportation and buildings engineering design firm. He assisted multiple projects throughout the Washington, DC area, including civil design services for the new DC United Soccer Stadium. Chris is certified as a LEED Green Associate and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. He wishes to merge environmentally conscious design with our built environment to realize sustainable and resilient cities. Chris is honored to represent the student body as Services Vice President for this academic year.

Jonathan Fuller is a junior Nursing major from Cadiz, Kentucky. He has been involved in SGA since he was a freshman serving as the Vice Chair and Chair of the Engaging Issues Committee on the Student Activities Board and a member of the Cards in Action legislative lobbying group. Outside of Student Government Jonathan is a member of The Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Order of Omega Greek Leadership honor society, Multicultural Association of Premedical Students and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. He looks forward to advocating for change in academic policies on behalf of all students at the University of Louisville.
